The Town and Village of Windsor, most of the local churches and some of the local businesses are opening their doors again to allow the community and surrounding areas to enjoy an alcohol-free, family friendly First Knight experience on New Year’s Eve, December 31, 2025 from 7 pm to just after midnight.  The Lighthouse Community Church will be open to serve Chicken and Biscuit dinners at 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm and would appreciate a free will offering. 

We are going all out to bring you the most exciting First Knight ever with entertainment such as magician, Jeremy the Illusionist, a Children’s Carnival complete with Chee Chee the Clown and prizes for the kids, Kopernik’s portable planetarium, face painting, a photo booth, juggling, an indoor snowball fight, balloon sculptures, a marionette show, history including George Cummings doing an interactive presentation, and a live presentation of the "Frontier Life Before the American Revolution" along with items the settlers used at the time for all to enjoy.  New this year, we will be offering Laser Tag from 7 pm - 11 pm at the Windsor Bible Baptist Church.  Warm up at the bon fire and make S’mores to satisfy your sweet tooth.  Additionally, we will have music, crafts such as New Year’s Eve glasses and hat creations along with a Hat Judging at the Community House for 2 categories, 12 and under and 13 and over with prizes, Candy Bingo, and Trivia.  Food, snacks and drinks ae available at most venues. The Community House ramps up at 10:00 pm with delicious First Knight cake being served, two hours of music by R.P.H. Band of One followed by Will Stafford juggling fire, noisemakers and confetti raining down at midnight. 

Best of all, the events, performances, and activities are free to the public thanks to our many generous sponsors:  Northland Power DBA Bluestone Wind Farm, Visions Federal Credit Union,  The Law Offices of Frederick R Xlander, the Windsor Lions Club, Knights of Columbus, Leonard Bus Sales, Osterhoudt-Madden Funeral Home, and Acclaim Insurance Agency.  There will be a drawing at the end of the evening for several donated prizes and one of the attendees will win a 50” SMART television.

We are looking for a few volunteers to help with the crafts, to serve cake and drinks and put up some signs and banners.  Please donate a couple hours of your time not only to enjoy the event, but to get out in the community and make a difference.  Please call Elaine Card at 607-655-3399 to sign up to volunteer or email: acclaimagency@gmail.com.
